Phnom Penh, Cambodia – Shrewsbury International School Phnom Penh is excited to announce its upcoming Scholarship Audition and Assessment Day on May 6th. This event aims to discover children in Cambodia with exceptional talent or potential in Academics, Performing Arts, and Sports & Swimming. The scholarship programme is part of the school's commitment to providing a holistic and high-quality education accessible to all, regardless of their background. This is on top of the already established Academic scholarship programme continuously being run by the school.

The programme is open to all children in Cambodia, and the selection process is free of charge. Interested families must submit an application, which the school will review ahead of the event. The school's website and Facebook page provide application forms and awarding criteria information that must be returned by 5:00 PM on April 30th. Children who make it to the Audition and Assessment Day will be asked to provide supporting evidence of their potential in their chosen area.

Shrewsbury International School Phnom Penh aims to nurture and develop exceptional talent across multiple disciplines, creating well-rounded individuals who will make a positive impact in their chosen fields. The school is offering a limited number of full scholarships, with one full scholarship awarded for each of the three categories. In addition, other scholarships will be awarded at the Principal’s discretion, making a positive impact on many children and their families.

The scholarship program is not only beneficial to the selected students but also promotes diversity in schools, a crucial aspect of our modern, globalized world. The selection process is free of charge and accessible to all children in Cambodia, showing the school's commitment to diversity and equality.

Mrs. Khan Sokum Chhorvy, one of the parents at Shrewsbury International School Phnom Penh, shared her experience of the school saying “I chose the school for its reputation as one of the premium international schools from the UK and the scholarship opportunities offered to young potential and gifted children. My second son is currently studying in the Early Years program, while my first son attends the Gifted and Talented program (GTP) every Saturday morning. I noticed remarkable changes in Munin, my second son, who has become more independent, confident, and brave in communicating with friends, teachers, or elders, and gains confidence in exploring and doing things by himself.”

Another parent, Mrs. Se Sokpheakreak clearly stated that “As a parent of a 5-year-old son attending Shrewsbury International School Phnom Penh, I am proud to say that the education and teachers at this school have greatly benefitted my child. Shrewsbury's international reputation and high education standards have provided my son with a good curriculum and many professional and native teachers, making it easy for him to catch up and learn new skills. He has developed basic skills like blending words, speaking, and listening, as well as communication and social skills. Moreover, the physical education program at the school has helped my son become healthier and have better reflexes, and he can confidently swim for long stretches by himself. I appreciate the school's weekly updates on my child's progress, and the various opportunities provided for both my child and me to learn more about the world and the environment. Finally, the weekend Gifted and Talented Programme has enhanced my son's observation and thinking skills, and has taught him how to solve different types of problems.”

Mrs. Midori Nakao from Japan has been living in Phnom Penh for about 10 years and her son is 5 years old. She delightfully shared that “My family chose Shrewsbury International School in Phnom Penh, in part because of a scholarship event, and now my son is not only studying in the Early Years school but also in the Gifted & Talented program on Saturdays. I believe that my son has benefited greatly from the education and teachers at Shrewsbury because the school supports students in developing their skills and interests, which in turn fosters critical thinking skills. My son has had some favorite experiences at school, including a cutting paper art project, which he was able to expand into a larger project with his friends, and a visit to a clinic, which the students observed carefully and then reproduced in their classroom in their own way. Overall, I am very pleased with the education and opportunities provided to my son at Shrewsbury International School in Phnom Penh.”

The Scholarship Audition and Assessment Day presents a rare opportunity for talented children in Cambodia to gain access to a world-class education. Shrewsbury International School Phnom Penh provides high-quality education that caters to each student's unique abilities and talents.
